New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) Two years after Rahul Gandhi’s historic Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday hailed the initiative as a game-changer in Indian politics. “This yatra prominently raised issues of social, economic, and political justice,” Ramesh said in a post on handle X, emphasising the yatra’s impact on the country’s public discourse.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which covered 6,600 kilometres across 15 states, became a significant factor in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with the protection of democracy and the Indian Constitution emerging as a central issue. “It is to the credit of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra that the protection of democracy and the Indian Constitution became a central issue in the election campaign of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and it remains at the center of our public discourse even today,” Ramesh stated.
The yatra, which lasted for two months, was an ideological move aimed at re-establishing the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution. Ramesh emphasized that the yatra’s impact is still felt today, with the Congress party’s message of social, economic, and political justice resonating with the people.
Ramesh stated that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, prominently raised issues of social, economic, and political justice. “Two years ago, @RahulGandhi ji had initiated the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra from Manipur to Mumbai. This journey, which lasted for two months, passed through 15 states and covered a distance of 6,600 kilometers,” Ramesh said. He added, “This yatra prominently raised issues of social, economic, and political justice.”
