Bangladesh announce central contracts for 2026

Dhaka, Feb 20 (UNI) Bangladesh have announced the central contracts for their men’s side for the 2026 season, covering the period from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

The number of players under BCB contract has risen from 22 in 2025 to 28 in the latest list.
Pacer Taskin Ahmed, who was the only player in the A category last year, has dropped to Grade A. An Achilles injury in February set his season back and he did not play a single Test match in 2025. He was still a presence for Bangladesh in white-ball cricket, claiming eight wickets in six ODIs and 24 wickets in 13 T20Is, according to ICC.
Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim has dropped to Grade B since he retired from ODIs in March last year.
Consistent performances by Shadman Islam, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Rishad Hossian and Shak Mahedi Hasan were awarded with a promotion to Grade B. Tanzid Hasan was the highest scorer in T20Is for Bangladesh in 2025, while Rishad Hossain was the top wicket-taker in ODIs as well as T20Is last season.
