Balaghat tops in state in plantation by school children

  • Over 26 thousand saplings planted

Bhopal: To make the students aware about environmental protection, the School Education Department has given instructions to plant saplings under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign through the students enrolled in the schools. Balaghat district ranks first in Madhya Pradesh in terms of plantation by school children. This campaign is being effectively implemented in Balaghat district under the guidance of Collector Mr. Mrinal Meena. Along with the protection of the plants planted in this campaign, instructions have been given to upload their photos on the My Life app. After uploading the photo on this app, certificates are also being provided to the students planting the saplings by the Principal of the school.

District Education Officer Ashwini Upadhyay said that as per the instructions of the department, plantation is being done under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan with the participation of students. Students are planting saplings in the name of mother in the school premises, their homes and fields. In Balaghat district, till July 15, 26 thousand 913 saplings have been planted by the students of 1255 schools under this campaign.

Under this campaign, among the schools of Balaghat district, St. Mary School Balaghat is in first place, Sandipani Vidyalaya Bolegaon is in second place and Sandipani Vidyalaya Katangi is in third place. Special attention is being paid to the protection of the saplings being planted by the children of the schools under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan.
