Bhopal: A unique case of cyber fraud has emerged from Madhya Pradesh capital, where fraudsters digitally arrested a youth in his home. They threatened him over the phone, claiming to be from the Bhopal Police and accusing him of watching pornographic videos. The scammers demanded a sum of two lakh rupees.
The youth was held in this digital extortion scheme for about an hour. The caller, impersonating a police officer, continued to intimidate him with threats related to the alleged videos. However, thanks to his awareness of such scams, the youth did not transfer any money and ultimately avoided falling victim to the cyber criminals.
