Bhopal: The Regional Museum of Natural History organized engaging activities under its Summer Nature Study Programmes. An Environmental Game session was conducted for participants of the Green Cub programme to raise awareness about the environment and its vital components. Shri Dilip Kumar Chakravarty, Environmental Education Officer at EPCO, conducted games such as Web of Life, Know Segregation of Waste, Water Conservation, Mission LiFE, and Who Am I. These activities helped 19 enthusiastic children understand ecological relationships and sustainable living practices in an interactive manner.
Tree Identification session
Simultaneously, a Tree Identification session was held for the Green Teen participants. Dr. Sudesh Waghmare, former Deputy Conservator of Forest, explained the key methods to identify trees based on features like size, canopy, leaf type, bark, flowers, and fruits. He emphasized the importance of trees for the ecosystem and guided students to observe and learn about species such as Indian Elm, Rosewood, Sacred Fig, Neem, Banyan, and many others.
Programme coordinator and Scientist-C, Manik Lal Gupta, urged participants to actively plant and conserve trees for a sustainable future.
