New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong will travel to India on Wednesday for the 16th Australia-India Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue, aimed at enhancing collaboration across cyber and strategic technology, trade, and defence.
Australia and India are committed to advance “collective security and prosperity bilaterally, through the multilateral institutions.”
“Australia and India have never been closer, and our partnership has never been more consequential. It is vital for both our countries and for the region, especially in an increasingly complex and competitive world,” Minister Wong said.
“My visit continues the high tempo of engagement between our nations and reflects the Albanese Government’s commitment to deepening our relationships and strengthening resilience. Our cooperation under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership highlights our shared vision for a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific.”
Minister Wong will also meet with Minister for External Affairs, Dr S. Jaishankar, marking her 26th meeting with her counterpart. She noted that discussions will focus on setting the course for an ambitious, future-focused agenda.
“We will work to enhance collaboration across cyber and strategic technology, trade, maritime security, defence, sport, and people-to-people ties. Together, Australia and India are advancing collective security and prosperity bilaterally, through the Quad, and within multilateral institutions,” she said in a statement.
