Attempted robbery in jewelry shop, accused caught

  • Masked miscreant fired a shot; shop owner attacked with pistol butt

Bhopal: A miscreant tried to rob a jewelry shop in Bhopal. However, the shop owner and the employee caught him and handed him over to the police.

An attempt of robbery took place at Akshansh Jewelers Shop in Rohit Nagar, Bhopal on Monday afternoon. A masked miscreant reached there and asked to show the gold chain. When the shop owner asked to remove the mask, the accused took out a pistol. He fired two shots with the intention of intimidating the shop operator.

However, he bravely confronted the accused and caught him and handed him over to the police. According to TI Lokendra Singh Thakur, the complainant has been sent for medical.

According to the information, the complainant Manoj Jain runs a shop in Rohit Nagar named Akshansh Jewellers. Vishnu lives in Hitech City Bavadia. 0He opened the shop at 12 noon. Another employee was present in the shop with him.

Around 1 pm, a youth came to the shop with a cloth wrapped around his face. He asked to show the gold chain. Manoj asked him to remove the cloth, after which the accused took out the pistol kept nearby. He asked to hand over the jewellery, when the complainant protested, the accused fired in the air. After this, he hit the butt of the pistol on the nose.

Shop owner told the story of the incident

Shop operator Manoj Jain said that the accused waited for the right opportunity after coming to the shop. I went towards the locker room, then he pointed a pistol at the employee and made him sit on the side. When I came out, he said that if I resisted, I would lose my life.

He said that I would hand over all the gold in the shop to him. I kept him engaged in conversation. Meanwhile, the accused opened the cash box in the shop counter, it had some jewellery and cash for repairs, the accused took out this cash and jewellery and kept it in his pocket. Seeing this, I started coming out of the counter.

Meanwhile, he suddenly fired two shots. Both times, the sound of a gunshot was heard but the bullet probably did not come out. Taking advantage of this, I tried to catch the accused. I pushed him down, my employee also came to help. Both of us caught him together. Neighbors also came when we made noise.

The shop owner told that he kept calling the police station, dialed 100 but no one came. Only information was noted on every call. Meanwhile, a neighbor reached the police station and brought two policemen with him. Then the accused was handed over to the police.
