Bhopal: A case of assault on sanitation supervisor Santosh Tank has been reported from Ward 10 of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. According to reports, Tank was inspecting cleanliness work in his area on Saturday morning when two unidentified men stopped him, abused him, and physically assaulted him. He sustained a serious ear injury and was treated at a local hospital.
Following the incident, senior municipal officials and other employees reached the spot, and a complaint was lodged at the Shahjahanabad police station. Representatives of sanitation workers’ unions also arrived at the station, demanding stronger safety measures for municipal staff.
Union members stated that sanitation workers in Bhopal often face immense pressure due to strict cleanliness targets and must be provided with a safe working environment to prevent such incidents from recurring.
