Arvind Kejriwal hits out at Centre: ‘Farmers’ sacrifice for Trump unacceptable’

New Delhi, Sept 10 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Central government of compromising the interests of Indian cotton farmers to strengthen diplomatic and trade relations with the United States.
In a post on social media, Kejriwal claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making concessions that favour American interests, potentially harming local farmers, traders, and small industries.
Kejriwal stated that Indian markets are being increasingly opened to American goods under terms that could threaten domestic livelihoods. He described the negotiations between India and the US as “one-sided” and warned that such policies could undermine India’s economic sovereignty.
“To please Trump, cotton farmers across the country have been put at stake,” Kejriwal said. He expressed concern over the long-term impact on employment and market control, asking, “if the entire Indian market comes under the control of the Americans, where will our people go?”
Kejriwal called the perceived approach an “insult to 140 crore Indians” and urged the government to protect national dignity and economic self-reliance.
