New Delhi, July 10 (UNI) The Indian Army continued to extend critical support to civil administrations in Himachal Pradesh and the northeastern region as part of the ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.
Following the recent floods in Mandi district, the Indian Army in close coordination with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local authorities has deployed dedicated relief columns, the Indian Army said today.
The Indian Army columns have been mobilised across key locations, including Thunag, Bagsiad, and Pandoh.
Ongoing support at Thunag includes provision of first aid and distribution of ration kits to affected families.
In partnership with civil administration, the Army has ensured delivery of relief material to remote villages — Degi, Rushad and Chapad cut off by the flood.
All columns are in communication via mobile networks, with limited coverage at some locations like Thunag.
Satellite communications including ISAT phone, RS STARSV and HX systems have been provided to ensure uninterrupted operational connectivity.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army has launched extensive HADR operations under Operation Jal Rahat 2, with coordinated deployment across Nagaland, Assam, and Manipur.
The Army has deployed 40 relief columns across the region. A total of 3,820 individuals have been rescued, while 1,361 food packets have been distributed.
The Indian Army has provided medical aid to 2,095 people and 15,421 water bottles have been supplied.
