Bhopal: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and veteran statesman late Arjun Singh, the “Arjun Singh Alankaran Ceremony” will be held in the state capital on 5 November. The event will take place at the Ratnakash Manch, Ravindra Bhavan, from 8 p.m. onwards.
On this occasion, the founder of the Sarveshwar Museum Dr Shridhar, senior journalist Pramod Vijayvargiya, former Olympian Ashok Dhyan Chand, artist Pramila Harichandansingh Bhattacharya, and folk singer Haki Hemlal Singh Gondpariya will be felicitated with the Arjun Singh Alankaran award for their distinguished contributions in their respective fields.
A national-level mushaira and kavi sammelan will also be organised, featuring noted poets and lyricists including Tajwar Thagri (Meerut), Har Faraz (Rampur), Popular Meeruthi (Mumbai), Khalid Haidar (Muradabad), Mumtaz Naseem (Bijnor), Naseer Kushdal Balal Saharanpuri (Saharanpur), and Tabrez Munawwar Rana (Lucknow).
The ceremony will be inaugurated by senior Maharashtra Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala, with Amethi MP Kishorilal Sharma as the chief guest. Former Maharashtra minister Arif Naseem Khan and Bhopal MLA Arif Masood will be present as special guests.
Event committee patron Ajay Singh ‘Rahul Bhaiya’ and chairman Dr Mahesh Singh Chauhan stated that eminent personalities from across the country have been invited. Arjun Singh continues to be remembered as a leader dedicated to the upliftment of the marginalised, tribal, and backward communities, and as a patron of art and culture.
