- Message received from Centre after CM left for Jharkhand
Administrative Correspondent, Bhopal
Anurag Jain, a 1989 batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service, will be the new Chief Secretary of MP. The state government has sent a proposal to the central government in the afternoon to make him the Chief Secretary. In the proposal sent to the Central Personnel Ministry, Jain has been informed about the sentiments of giving him a new responsibility and has been requested to relieve him. Jain has also been informed in this regard. Jain will take over the responsibility of the 34th Chief Secretary of MP on Tuesday, October 1.
The name of Dr. Rajesh Rajoura was discussed in the ministry till afternoon regarding the new Chief Secretary of the state. Even till the Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav left for Jharkhand, it was believed that Dr. Rajoura would become the new Chief Secretary of MP. This is because no message from Delhi had reached MP, but after the Chief Minister left for Jharkhand, the state government received a message from Delhi regarding Anurag Jain, after which the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and GAD personnel became active. Preparations were made to send a letter to DoPT to relieve Jain in a hurry. Jain is currently posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Roads and Highways in Delhi.
The order to make him Chief Secretary has not been issued yet. In fact, until DoPT relieves Jain and hands over his services to the MP government, the order to make him Chief Secretary cannot be issued. Till the time of writing the news, this matter was entangled in technical complications, but the order is likely to be issued late tonight or by Tuesday morning. Jain will be able to remain Chief Secretary till August 2025.
