New Delhi, Oct 6 (UNI) Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently watched Kantara: Chapter 1 with his family and joined the growing chorus of praise for Rishab Shetty’s much-acclaimed prequel to the 2022 Kannada hit Kantara.
Impressed by the film’s powerful storytelling and visual grandeur, Kher hailed the filmmakers for their “magical brilliance.”
Taking to his X, Kher wrote, “Dearest Shetty_rishab! Just watched Kantara with my mom, brother, Herman, and Phalguni! I am S P E E C H L E S S! I wish I had more words to describe your and your entire team’s magical brilliance! May Lord Ram bless you. Jai Ho to you all!”
The actor also shared a video featuring his family, in which they can be seen expressing their admiration for the film and how deeply it moved them. In response, director and lead actor Rishab Shetty thanked Kher for his kind words.
Released in theatres on October 2, ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ explores the origins of Daiva worship in Tulunadu, delving into its roots in the 4th-century Kadamba dynasty.
Shetty stars as Berme, a fierce protector of the Kantara forest and its tribal inhabitants. The film portrays the clash between a royal family attempting to assert control and the tribals who fight to preserve their sacred traditions.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram, with notable performances by Rakesh Poojari, Hariprashanth MG, Deepak Rai Panaje, Shaneel Gautham, and Naveen Bondel.
Backed by producers Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda under the Hombale Films banner, Kantara: Chapter 1 is currently enjoying a successful theatrical run across India and has been released in multiple languages, continuing to resonate with audiences for its cultural depth and cinematic excellence.
