New Delhi, Nov 1 (UNI) Veteran actor Anupam Kher, fondly known as Bollywood’s “Marathon Man,” has started filming his 549th project, reuniting with acclaimed filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya for another cinematic venture.
Marking the special occasion, Kher presented Barjatya with an auspicious shawl from Ayodhya, symbolising good beginnings. The actor shared a heartwarming video from the first day of the shoot on Instagram, celebrating the moment with fans.
In his caption, Kher wrote, “ANNOUNCING MY 549th FILM: Delighted to share that my 549th untitled film started today with the one and only Sooraj Barjatya! I presented him with the auspicious shawl that I got from Ayodhya! Sooraj was Mahesh Bhatt Saab’s 5th assistant for my first film Saaransh! It has been a long, happy, amazing, and creatively joyous journey with him. I have the privilege of being in the first shot of the film! Jai Shri Krishna!”

Recently, Anupam Kher was seen in ‘Tanvi The Great,’ a film he also directed. Re-released on September 26, the movie explores themes of courage, autism, and patriotism, telling the story of a young girl determined to join the armed forces, inspired by her late father.
The film stars Shubhangi Dutt, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff, Karan Tacker, Arvind Swami, Nasser, and British actor Iain Glen, alongside Kher himself. Produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with NFDC, the movie earned international acclaim at film festivals in Cannes, New York, London, and Houston.
