Perth, March 8 (UNI) Annabel Sutherland delivered a brilliant all-round performance, scoring 129 runs and taking six wickets, as Australia comprehensively defeated India by 10 wickets in the one-off Test at the WACA Ground in Perth on Sunday.
Australia took a commanding first-innings lead, posting 323 in reply to India’s 198. In their second innings, India were bowled out for 149, handing Australia a modest target of 25 runs, which they chased comfortably without losing a wicket.
In the morning session, Ashleigh Gardner dismissed Sneh Rana (30) for India’s seventh wicket, followed by Alana King removing Kashvee Gautam (0) and Saayli Satghare (3). Gardner then dismissed Pratika Rawal, who top-scored for India with 63 off 137 balls, ending the innings at 149.
Lucy Hamilton claimed three wickets for Australia, while Sutherland, King, and Gardner picked up two wickets each. Darcy Brown also took a wicket.
Earlier, India struggled in their first innings, making 198, before Australia’s strong reply gave them control. India’s batting faltered again in the second innings, allowing Australia to wrap up the match swiftly.
