Mumbai, July 7 (UNI) In a moment of paternal vulnerability, the Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan shared a sincere note dedicated to his son, Abhishek Bachchan, who with his latest performance in “Kaalidhar Laapata” seems to have redefined his cinematic legacy.
The film premiered on Zee5 on July 4 and has garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for Abhishek’s haunting portrayal of the titular character.
Taking to Instagram, Amitabh Bachchan shared an evocative still of Abhishek from the film, writing, “My pride and my unlimited love .. how beautifully on your own terms you are achieving your well deserved praise and recognition…”
The Big B continued in Hindi, “KAALDHAR LAAPATA ho sakata hai lekin abhishek kabhee nahin hamaare dilon mein se (Kalidhar can go missing, but Abhishek can never go missing from our hearts).”
In the film, directed by Madhumita and produced by Zee Studios and Emmay Entertainment, Abhishek steps into the role of Kaalidhar, a middle-aged man who is struggling with loss of memory, rejection and silent betrayals of a lifetime.
When he overhears his siblings’ ruthless plan to abandon him at the crowded Maha Kumbh fair, he chooses to disappear of his own accord. Then fate brings him close to Ballu (Daivik Bhagela), an outspoken, smart eight-year-old orphan who is surviving on his own on the bustling streets of India. What begins as a chance encounter turns into the beginning of a deep and meaningful journey.
