Patna, Nov 1 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that the upcoming Assembly election in Bihar is a contest between ‘Sushasan’ (good governance) and ‘jungle raj’ (lawlessness), and will decide the future of the state.
He urged voters to think carefully before casting their votes.
Addressing the people of Gopalganj and Samastipur virtually today, Shah said, “The first phase of voting is on November 6. You must decide that day whether Bihar should go into the hands of those who imposed ‘jungle raj’ for 15 years, or remain with the NDA, which has provided ‘sushahsan’ (good governance) for 20 years and put Bihar on the path of development. For the past 20 years, Nitish Kumar, and for 11 of those years Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have left no stone unturned for Bihar’s development.”
Shah said that the NDA’s manifesto, which outlines several blueprints for the state’s growth, has two major focus areas, one for farmers and another for women.
“Recently, Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Modi deposited Rs 10,000 each into the accounts of 1.41 crore Jeevika Didis. They will further transfer up to Rs 2 lakh into their bank accounts through various schemes. Secondly, 27 lakh farmers in Bihar currently receive Rs 6,000 per year. After forming the NDA government, we will add Rs 3,000 more, increasing it to Rs 9,000 annually,” he said.
Raising the issue of infiltrators, Shah accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of organising a yatra that was essentially a “march to protect infiltrators.”
He asserted that the BJP and NDA’s clear stance is that infiltrators must be identified and removed from the state’s voter list.
In Sitamarhi, Shah mentioned that Nitish Kumar has decided to build a grand temple dedicated to Goddess Sita at a cost of Rs 882 crore. The foundation ceremony has already taken place, and within two years, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate it.
He added that Modi has done a great deal to honour the Mithila region, including adding the Maithili language to the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, translating the Constitution into Maithili, granting GI tag to Madhubani paintings, launching the Shashwat Mithila Mahotsav in Gujarat, and honouring the late Sharda Sinha with the Padma Vibhushan.
Addressing the people of Gopalganj, Shah said, “The people of Gopalganj have not elected the RJD since 2002. I am confident that this time too, you will continue that record.”
He also compared the NDA allies to the “five Pandavas,” saying they were united in this electoral battle, while the INDIA Alliance was riddled with internal conflicts and “fighting among themselves instead of us.”
