Amid speculation, Nitish Kumar expresses desire to enter Rajya Sabha

Patna, March 5 (UNI) Amid growing political speculation about his possible move to the Rajya Sabha, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday expressed his desire to become a member of the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming election.

In a message shared on social media account X, Kumar said that for more than two decades, people have consistently placed their trust and support in him, which enabled him to serve Bihar with dedication. He said that the faith of the people has been the driving force behind the state’s progress and growing sense of dignity.

The Chief Minister said in the message that it had been his long-standing wish since the beginning of his parliamentary career to become a member of both Houses of the Bihar Legislature as well as both Houses of Parliament. In this context, he indicated that he now wishes to enter Rajya Sabha in the election being held this time.

Kumar also reassured the people that his relationship with them would remain strong in the future as well. He said he would continue to work with them towards the goal of building a developed Bihar.

He further stated that the new government that will be formed in the state will receive his full cooperation and guidance.

As it is, Kumar’s statement comes at a time when political circles in Bihar are abuzz with speculation about a possible shift in his political role, particularly in connection with the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections.
