Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of 4388 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu, July 20 (UNI) A fresh batch of 4388 pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra chanting ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ this morning left for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas here from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp.

“A fresh batch of 4388 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,” they added.

They said that 2815 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 1573 for Baltal in a fleet of 179 vehicles comprising Light Motor Vehicles and Heavy Motor Vehicles.

The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both routes with the flagging off of the first batch from here by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 2.

The yatra will end on August 9.

So far, more than 2 lakh pilgrims have visited the shrine.
