Amarnath Yatra: Batch of 2,896 pilgrims leaves from Jammu base camp

Jammu, July 25 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra chanting ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ this morning left for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp, government sources said.

“A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,” they added.

They said that 790 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2,106 for Baltal in a fleet of 117 vehicles comprising light motor vehicles and heavy vehicles.

The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both the routes from here on July 2. The yatra will end on August 9 on Rakshabandhan.

More than three lakh pilgrims have so far visited the shrine.
