Almost 2,500 French troops to arrive in Romania for drills: Romanian Defence Ministry

Chisinau, Sep 28 (UNI/SPUTNIK) Almost 2,500 French military personnel, along with equipment, will arrive in Romania from September 28 to 30 to participate in the NATO Dacian fall 2025 military drills, the Romanian defence ministry said on Sunday.

“Two thousand four hundred French troops who will take part in the drills will enter the country, starting today and until September 30, through the border crossings of Giurgiu and Vama Veche. Therefore, if you meet military convoys on your way or see images of military convoys on social media, know that they are heading to the exercise sites and preparing for the Dacian fall 2025 exercises,” the ministry said on social media.

The drills will be held at the Cincu, Smardan, Capu Midia, Babadag, Bogata, Alba Iulia, Hanu Conachi, Giarmata and Cartisoara training ranges, the ministry added

The exercises will take place from October 20 to November 13 and involve 5,000 military personnel and 1,200 pieces of equipment from Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Italy, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain. The exercises will be held in Romania and Bulgaria.
