New Delhi, Oct 4 (UNI) The White House today said all 50 States of the United States will see devastating economic hit in the Democrat shutdown.
The Council of Economic Advisers in the country warned that the U.S. could lose 15 Billion Dollars in GDP each week the government is shut down and will spark off a crisis that will ripple across every state.
New data underscores the nationwide fallout — with all 50 states likely to face job losses, reduced consumer spending and disruptions to vital programs.
The White House highlighted the staggering cost of Democrats’ ‘’recklessness’’ with new state-by-state analyses, revealing a crisis that ‘’punishes’’ American families.
A monthlong shutdown may mean 43,000 plus more unemployed Americans, the White House said. It said women and children in need could lose access to their critical benefits.
‘’Consumer spending will fall as a result of lost wages from furloughed workers and reduced federal contract spending,’’ it said.
The US government has shut down for the first time in about seven years after Republicans and Democrats failed to agree to a deal to fund the Federal government. The Congress is required to approve spending bills by October one every year to fund various departments and agencies of the Federal government. However, this year the government and the opposition could not reach an agreement so far.
