Bhopal Railway Station: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) continues to demonstrate exceptional vigilance in safeguarding passengers and preventing theft. In a recent display of their commitment, on the night of July 20, 2025, during a routine patrol, Head Constable Suresh Kumar Malviya apprehended a mobile thief red-handed.
While on duty at Platform No. 1, near the New Building-Old Bridge escalator and circulating area, Head Constable Malviya noticed a suspicious individual in a light yellow-cream shirt. Upon questioning, the suspect confessed to stealing a Vivo mobile phone, valued at approximately Rs 20,000, from the pocket of a sleeping passenger on Platform No. 1.
The arrested individual was identified as Kamlesh Gajanan Dongre, 20, from Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. The stolen phone was identified by its owner, Rajendra Barathe, 33, from Betul, Madhya Pradesh.
Sub-Inspector Ravendra Singh of the RPF handed over the accused and the recovered mobile phone to the GRP Police Station, Bhopal, for further legal proceedings. Railway authorities have commended the RPF’s swift and alert action, which has significantly bolstered the sense of security among travelers. The railway administration urges passengers to remain vigilant with their belongings and report any suspicious activity to the RPF immediately.
