Akhilesh Yadav targets BJP, alleges nationwide failures under ‘Double-Engine’ governments

New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party, alleging widespread failures and injustice under what he described as “double-engine” BJP governments across several states.

In a long post on social media platform X, Yadav urged BJP supporters to introspect and question their support, saying that anyone with “patriotism, sensitivity, humanity, conscience and awareness” should look at recent developments across the country.

He alleged that in Uttarakhand, people are on the streets demanding justice for an incident involving a woman, while in Uttar Pradesh, deaths have occurred due to poisonous syrup.

Yadav also claimed that crores of rupees in cash were recovered from the residence of a GST officer in Uttar Pradesh, questioning the BJP’s claims on black money elimination and an honest tax system.

The Samajwadi Party chief further alleged that people have died due to toxic water in Madhya Pradesh and that atrocities against Dalits have crossed limits, including incidents involving the burning of Babasaheb Ambedkar’s pictures.

He said residents in Delhi are struggling to breathe, while in Rajasthan, farmers are protesting against hazardous factories.

Yadav also raised concerns over alleged illegal mining in Gujarat and Haryana, claiming that people are forced to seek justice only through courts to protect the Aravalli range.

He referred to the killing of a BSF jawan’s son in Uttarakhand and allegations of communal discrimination in Assam and claimed that in Maharashtra people are being threatened and prevented from contesting or voting in elections.

He further alleged attacks on minority festivals in Chhattisgarh and Odisha and claimed that despite prohibition in Bihar, illegal liquor is being sold due to corruption in border police stations.

Concluding his post, Yadav appealed to people to think about corruption, unemployment, economic distress, environmental damage, social hatred, atrocities against women and marginalised communities, farmers’ struggles, and India’s global image before extending support to the BJP.
