On transfusion transmitted infection testing: basic to advance
Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal Department of Transfusion Medicine and Blood Bank organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) cum workshop on “Transfusion Transmitted Infection Testing: Basic to Advance” on February 21, 2025. The event received an overwhelming response, with over 150 medical professionals from various institutions participating. The workshop provided an in-depth understanding of transfusion-transmitted infection (TTI) testing, covering both fundamental concepts and advanced diagnostic techniques.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh stated, “Ensuring the safety of blood transfusion is a critical aspect of healthcare, and robust testing for transfusion-transmitted infections is essential to prevent complications. This CME-cum-workshop served as a crucial initiative to equip medical professionals with the latest knowledge and practical skills to enhance the quality and safety of blood transfusion services.” Eminent guest speakers from renowned institutes such as MGM Medical College and Hospital, AIIMS Nagpur, and AIIMS Bhopal shared their insights and expertise.
The scientific sessions covered the latest advancements in TTI testing, while the evening session focused on hands-on training in ELISA techniques and quality control measures—providing participants with practical exposure to critical laboratory processes.
