AIIMS Bhopal’s Abhinav Singh presents research on international platform

Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal continues to make significant strides in patient care, research, and academic excellence. In a major achievement, Dr. Abhinav Singh, Assistant Professor in the Department of Burns and Plastic Surgery, represented the institute at the World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM) Congress 2025 held in Barcelona, Spain.

At this prestigious global forum, Dr. Singh delivered an oral presentation on his research titled “Utility of Antero-lateral Thigh (ALT) Flap in Lower Limb Reconstruction: A Retrospective Series of 39 Cases.” The study, conducted entirely at AIIMS Bhopal, showcased the successful use of the ALT flap technique in complex lower limb surgeries, particularly beneficial for patients suffering from traumatic injuries, infections, or cancer-related damage.

The WSRM Congress is one of the world’s most respected gatherings in the field of microsurgery, attracting over 2,500 surgeons worldwide. Despite a highly competitive selection process, Dr. Singh’s work was chosen for presentation—highlighting the global relevance of AIIMS Bhopal’s medical advancements.

Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh praised the achievement, calling it a moment of great pride. He emphasized that it reflects the world-class standards now being achieved in India and inspires confidence in the quality of care at AIIMS Bhopal.
