World World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW) is going to organise under the leadership of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, AIIMS Bhopal from 18th to 24th November 2024. The aim of this campaign is to raise awareness about the proper use of antibiotics and the dangers of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Under this, the hospital and administrative buildings of AIIMS Bhopal will be illuminated with blue light on 22nd November, 2024 under the “Go Blue” campaign to raise awareness about antibiotic resistance. ‘Go Blue’ is a campaign launched by the World Health Organization to spread awareness about antimicrobial resistance.

On this occasion, Prof. Singh stated that AMR is a serious global health issue, and collective efforts are required to address it. AIIMS Bhopal is committed to raising awareness, training healthcare professionals, and promoting the judicious use of antibiotics.

As a matter of fact, AIIMS Bhopal is the only Institute in Central India that regularly updates about antibiograms on its website. These antibiograms help smaller hospitals and nursing homes to select appropriate antibiotics.
