Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal continues to lead efforts in strengthening public health awareness through its ongoing community outreach programmes. The Department of Pharmacology, AIIMS Bhopal—functioning as a Regional Training Centre (RTC) and Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Centre—conducted an impactful awareness campaign on Pharmacovigilance in collaboration with the Department of Community and Family Medicine. The event took place at the Gram Panchayat Office and Government Madhyamik Shala in Kalkheda, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The primary aim of the campaign was to educate the local community, including school students and teachers, about the vital role of Pharmacovigilance in ensuring the safe and effective use of medicines. Interactive sessions and open discussions helped participants understand the importance of reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
Attendees were informed about available reporting channels such as the toll-free helpline (1800-180-3024) and the PvPI mobile app. The team also stressed the need for consulting qualified healthcare professionals before taking any medication.
By promoting responsible medicine use and ADR reporting, the campaign fostered a shared sense of responsibility among patients, healthcare workers, and the broader community—paving the way for safer healthcare practices and improved public health outcomes.
