Bhopal: Under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, AIIMS Bhopal is organizing the ‘National Emergency Life Support’ (NELS) program, aimed at strengthening emergency medical services, This three-day training session is being conducted from October 7 to 9, 2024, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing, New Delhi.
The primary goal of this program is to enhance the emergency care skills of nursing officers. Prof. Singh remarked, “AIIMS Bhopal has always been committed to setting new benchmarks in health services, and this program will further fortify our emergency medical services. This is the first training of its kind in Madhya Pradesh, establishing a new standard in emergency medical care. The program also prepares participants as trainers, thereby amplifying its impact.”
The inauguration of the program was attended by Deputy Director (Administration) Col. Ajit Kumar, along with esteemed nursing faculties from leading institutions such as Safdarjung Hospital Delhi, AIIMS Mangalagiri, and Osmania Hospital Hyderabad, who provided training to the nursing officers.
Dr. Saurabh Saigal was recognized for his efforts in establishing the NELS-enabled Skill Lab at AIIMS Bhopal. Dr. Yunus, Head of the Department of Trauma and Emergency Medicine, noted, “AIIMS Bhopal’s innovative programs are consistently raising the bar for emergency medical services. In August 2024, we conducted NELS training for paramedics, and we will also organize a 5-day NELS program for doctors in the near future.” A total of 27 nursing officers participated in the program, significantly enriching their emergency care skills.
