AIIMS Bhopal organizes lecture on lifestyle management

Bhopal: Under the guidance of the Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, the Department of Physiology organized a lecture on the topic “Evidence-based Lifestyle Management: Nutrition, Recreation, Proper Sleep, and Social Engagement.” The keynote speaker for this lecture was Prof. (Dr.) Mrunal Phatak, Dean (Academic) and Professor & Head of the Department of Physiology at AIIMS Nagpur.

Prof. Phatak highlighted the importance of lifestyle interventions in the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She shared evidence-based strategies such as a whole plant-based diet, regular physical activity, proper sleep, hygiene, and promoting social connections, while also demonstrating the positive impact of these strategies through case studies. Prof. Phatak also emphasized the FITT principle (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type) for exercise and the importance of stress management.

On this occasion, Prof. Singh said, “This lecture is an important step towards holistic health. By adopting evidence-based lifestyles, we can make patient care more effective and sensitive.”

The lecture was organized under the supervision of Dr. Santosh Wakhode, Head of the Department of Physiology, with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, students, and healthcare professionals.
