AIIMS Bhopal organizes CME and workshop on cervical cancer

  • Timely screening and accurate diagnosis are key to prevention

Bhopal: The Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine successfully organized a one-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program and workshop on Cervical Cytology. The academic event witnessed enthusiastic participation from postgraduate students, faculty members, and practicing pathologists from various institutes across Madhya Pradesh and the country. The primary objective was to strengthen diagnostic capabilities and provide updates on the latest advances in cervical cancer screening and cytopathology.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of Director Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Prof. Singh emphasized the significance of early detection and upskilling in the field of women’s health.

He stated, “Cervical cancer remains one of the leading cancers among women, and timely screening and accurate diagnosis are key to prevention and treatment. Workshops like these empower healthcare professionals with updated knowledge and practical skills, ultimately enhancing patient care. AIIMS Bhopal remains committed to such impactful academic initiatives.”

The scientific sessions featured enlightening lectures from renowned experts including Prof. Sandeep Mathur (AIIMS Delhi), Prof. Roobina Khan (JNMC, AMU Aligarh), and Dr. Suprita Nayak (GMC Nagpur). In-house speakers Dr. Vaishali Walke and Dr. Jai Kumar Chaurasia also delivered insightful talks.
