Bhopal: The Department of Ophthalmology at AIIMS Bhopal organized a National Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme as part of the National Eye Donation Fortnight. The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Madhabananda Kar, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, alongside esteemed guests Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, Dr. Nichlani, and Dr. Lalit Srivastava.
The CME featured prominent experts in ophthalmology who shared their insights and experiences. Dr. Chindan Malhotra from PGI Chandigarh delivered an informative session on penetrating keratoplasty, transplantation, and cross-linking techniques.
Additionally, Dr. Neha Chaturvedi discussed steroid-induced glaucoma, while Dr. Prerna Upadhyay focused on the management of chemical burns and ocular trauma. These presentations provided participants with valuable knowledge about the latest advancements in eye care and vision restoration.
The event saw active participation from postgraduate students, interns, and faculty members, fostering an interactive atmosphere. A quiz competition concluded the programme, generating excitement and rewarding winners with attractive prizes. This National CME not only served as a scientific platform for exchanging ideas but also played a crucial role in raising awareness about the importance of eye donation. By encouraging individuals to pledge their eyes, AIIMS Bhopal reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing public health and supporting the vital cause of restoring sight to those in need.
