Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal’s Dr. Shubham Atal, Additional Professor, Department of Pharmacology, successfully completed a short-term international fellowship in Personalised Medicine at the prestigious Erasmus Medical Center of Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands, one of Europe’s leading centres in genomics, bioinformatics, and personalised healthcare. The 15-day fellowship provided him with direct exposure to cutting-edge research facilities in clinical bioinformatics, pharmacogenomics, and translational precision medicine.
During his training at Erasmus Medical Center, Dr. Atal interacted with multidisciplinary teams engaged in incorporating genomic data into clinical decision-making, improving patient stratification, and enhancing drug-response optimisation. This specialised training aligns with AIIMS Bhopal’s continued efforts to enhance institutional capacity in pharmacogenomics and precision therapeutics. Dr. Atal currently leads and contributes to several national and international collaborations in psychiatry pharmacogenetics and clinical trials, including research partnerships with Harvard Medical School, U.S.
