AIIMS Bhopal director speaks at MP Tourism sustainability summit

Bhopal: AIIMS Bhopal Executive Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ajai Singh, participated as a distinguished panelist at the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Sustainability Summit 2025, reinforcing the institute’s growing contribution beyond healthcare into regional and national development. The summit focused on the theme “Promoting Sustainable and Rural Tourism in Madhya Pradesh”, aiming to foster innovation, technological integration, and sustainability in the tourism sector.

Dr. Singh joined Panel Discussion-II on “Tourism and Sustainability: Leveraging Technology for Green Travel; Sustainable Investments”, where discussions revolved around green finance, jobs, government initiatives, and innovation.

State’s potential in wellness tourism

Highlighting the link between health, environment, and tourism, Dr. Singh emphasized Madhya Pradesh’s potential in wellness tourism, especially in rural areas. He stated, “Healthcare services can be effectively integrated with eco-tourism and wellness models. Yoga and Integrative Medicine present an opportunity to position India as a global wellness and medical tourism hub.”

He further noted that India’s traditional medical systems align closely with global sustainability goals, and daily adoption of yoga supports physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
