After schools, Delhi Assembly receives bomb threat email

New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta received a mail on his personal email on Monday morning, warning to blow up the historic premises with a bomb, officials said.

According to the assembly secretariat, the security department was immediately apprised about the email and its content.

Accordingly a thorough search operation was conducted at the assembly premises, and nothing suspicious was found so far, sources said.

In this regard, the Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta has demanded immediate necessary action, as he informed the Delhi Police Commissioner about the threat email.

Sources said that the email was sent by some Khalistani group. The security agencies have informed that apart from the Delhi Assembly, two schools in the city have also received similar mails on Monday.

The entire premises was evacuated after the threat email came to notice, as per the protocol. According to officials, there was nothing suspicious detected during the search operations. UNI APS KK
