The government will now work faster for the environmental protection of Maa Narmada, the life-giving river of the state. Now the activities going on around Narmada ji will also be monitored through satellite imagery and drone technology.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given instructions in this regard. On Friday, a cabinet meeting was held in Sushasan Bhavan with the aim of preparing an action plan to maintain the clean and uninterrupted flow of Maa Narmada river water, in which ministers and top officials participated. This was the first time during Dr. Yadav’s tenure that an administrative meeting was held in Sushasan Bhavan. During this, the Chief Minister has said that Amarkantak, the origin place of the life-giving Maa Narmada river of the state, should be managed through Amarkantak Development Authority, giving top priority to environmental protection. For future settlements, land should be identified away from the origin place of Narmada river and a satellite city should be developed. It should be ensured that sewage of any settlement from Amarkantak, the place of appearance of Maa Narmada, to the state border does not mix with the Narmada river, for this, work should be done by setting a time limit. Latest technologies should be used for solid waste management. It should also be ensured that meat and alcohol are not consumed in the religious towns situated on the banks of Narmada river and in and around religious places. He gave instructions to ban mining activities with machines in the river.

Parikrama path
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a plan should be prepared in a coordinated manner by various departments for the conservation of the area by marking the extension on both sides of the Narmada river through GIS and drone survey. This is the only river in the world, which is circumambulated. Activities towards infrastructure development should be initiated through local panchayats and committees by marking places on the Parikrama Path.
