Bhopal: As per the instructions of Collector Shri Kaushlendra Vikram Singh, continuous action is being taken against gas agencies, illegal business persons and those doing illegal work of gas refilling to prevent misuse and black marketing of domestic gas cylinders. In the last three months, 1375 gas cylinders and 09 vehicles were seized by registering cases under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 in a total of 32 cases of 09 gas agencies and other establishments under Bhopal district. The total amount of seized cylinders and vehicles is Rs 63,82,038/-. Also, in the cases registered earlier, as per the order passed in 05 cases under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, a penalty of Rs. 30,171 has been imposed and deposited with the government.
In the course of this action, on April 15, intensive action was taken at places like Gandhi Nagar, TT Nagar, Mata Mandir, Depot Square, 12 offices etc. and in 03 cases, a total of 125 domestic gas cylinders, 01 gas furnace, 01 electronic weighing scale and 01 Tata 407 vehicle were seized, the total estimated value of the seized material is Rs. 5 lakh 77 thousand 960.
On finding violation of the provisions of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Supply and Distribution Regulation Order, 2000 against the accused, action is being taken by registering a case under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
