New Delhi, Dec 30 (UNI) The opposition AAP on Tuesday reiterated its allegation that the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education had issued an order directing school teachers to count stray dogs. The BJP, however, has denied the claim.
Education Minister Ashish Sood had earlier stated that no such order was issued.
AAP leaders Sanjeev Jha and Kuldeep Kumar presented documents at a press conference, claiming these were official orders from the Education Directorate of the Delhi government and the Deputy Director of Education, North West District.
The documents pertained to stray dogs and the appointment of teachers as nodal officers.
“Either Sood is completely unaware or he is deliberately trying to spread lies,” Jha said. “On one side was a government that sent teachers abroad for training. On the other side is a government assigning those same teachers to count street dogs,” Jha stated, calling it an “insult” to the teaching community.
Kuldeep Kumar accused the current education minister of being disconnected from the school system and alleged his concerns lay more with “private education mafias” than with government school teachers and children.
