AAP questions Delhi govt over alleged non-disclosure of Yamuna pollution reports

New Delhi Dec 23 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday accused the BJP-led Delhi government of withholding official data on Yamuna river pollution, alleging a lack of transparency in environmental governance.
AAP Delhi state president Saurabh Bharadwaj said the government has stopped publishing monthly Yamuna pollution reports over the past three months.
Bharadwaj said that earlier governments led by Arvind Kejriwal had regularly released monthly Yamuna pollution data since 2014, which he described as a standard practice of accountable governance.
He alleged that the current administration under Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Water Minister Parvesh Verma discontinued the reports after he highlighted certain findings from a Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) report.
The AAP leader further alleged that the Delhi government is not cooperating with an expert panel from IIT Delhi appointed by the National Green Tribunal (NGT).
According to him, the panel has been denied access to sewage treatment plants (STPs) and relevant pollution data while reviewing the functioning of 37 STPs in the city.
Bharadwaj referred to a DPCC report dated October 23, 2025, stating that the Yamuna water was not fit even for bathing and contained high levels of pollution, including human waste. He claimed that suppressing such data could have serious public health implications.
The Delhi government has not issued an official response to the allegations so far.
