New Delhi Feb 5, (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State President, Saurabh Bhardwaj, launched a sharp attack on Delhi Police on Thursday, claiming that more than 800 people, including 509 girls, went missing in the first two weeks of January.
Bhardwaj contended that he considered this a failure of the Delhi Police, amounting to a “silent agreement” as they had not been able to locate the missing girls. Bhardwaj also wondered how the authorities “could sleep peacefully knowing these statistics.”
He also posed a question whether “Epstein-like files” were being created in the national capital.
“Epstein’s files contain many big names. As per my information, he bought an island. Teenage girls were brought there for powerful people. Is the same thing happening in Delhi?” he asked.
The AAP leader said that in the first 15 days of January, more than 800 people have gone missing, most of them girls—a figure of 509. Police have failed to trace 572 individuals.
“We have CCTV cameras on all the streets and roads of the capital. How can I believe that the police failed to find any clues about the missing persons? I think this is a Maun Sahmati (silent agreement),” Bhardwaj said.
“138 girls have gone missing with no trace. Extrapolated over 12 months, the figure would be around 3,500. Have we forgotten Nithari?” Bhardwaj added.
