New Delhi, Jan 13 (UNI) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday demanded a public apology from Delhi’s BJP minister Kapil Mishra, accusing him of committing sacrilege (beadbi) against the Sikh Gurus. The party stated that a forensic investigation had proven Mishra added misleading subtitles to a video that insulted the religious figures.
AAP’s National Media In-charge, Anurag Dhanda, addressed the media, asserting that the forensic analysis confirmed the word “Guru” was not uttered in the original video clip. He alleged that Mishra had inserted subtitles that constituted a grave act of sacrilege for political gain.
“The forensic investigation has made it absolutely clear that what Kapil Mishra has done is an unforgivable crime,” Dhanda said. He emphasised that the dignity of the Guru Sahibs cannot be compromised and urged Mishra to apologise to the global Sikh community.
Dhanda further advised the BJP minister to seek atonement at the Akal Takht Sahib in Amritsar. “His offense is unforgivable,” Dhanda stated, adding that any attempt by Mishra to deflect the allegations would be an act of “shamelessness.”
The AAP leader linked the complaint to a case filed by an individual who felt aggrieved by the subtitles. He defended the subsequent police action, noting the investigation was carried out by a reputed forensic laboratory. “When the word was not spoken and an act of beadbi was carried out by adding subtitles, then the registration of a case is natural and the law will do its work,” Dhanda concluded.
