New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) Bollywood actor and producer Aamir Khan added a dash of glamour to proceedings in the court of Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Friday as he occupied a front row seat to observe the judicial proceedings in the packed court room.
“I don’t want a stampede in the court, we welcome a very special guest of the Supreme Court of India,” the CJI said.
Attorney General R Venkataramani, appearing in one of the matters, also remarked, “The Chief’s court has become ‘Star-Studded’ today.”
The actor’s special court appearance, along with film director Kiran Rao, came hours before the screening of Bollywood movie “Laapataa Ladies” in the top court’s auditorium.
“Laapataa Ladies”, produced by Khan, is based on the theme of gender sensitization.
The special screening of the film was organized in the evening for judges, members of the Registry and their families.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao also had an interaction with the audience.
The CJI in his welcome address for Aamir Khan mentioned how he requested the actor to experience the courtroom proceedings in person and he accepted it promptly.
