- Card to be issued in six months
Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
A new system has been introduced for Aadhaar enrollment of individuals aged 18 years and above in the capital. Due to this updated procedure, the maximum time frame for receiving an Aadhaar card has now been extended to six months. The reason behind this extended timeline is the implementation of a stringent three-tier verification process.
Under the revised guidelines, individuals in this age group who apply for an Aadhaar number will not receive their card immediately. Instead, their data will undergo a rigorous verification procedure. Officials overseeing the Aadhaar update process have stated that the collected data will first be sent to Bengaluru for preliminary validation. Following this, it will be redirected to the state capital for further verification before being forwarded to the respective district associated with the applicant. Only after successfully passing through all three levels of verification will the Aadhaar card be issued.
Authorities have emphasized that strict instructions have been issued to all Aadhaar enrollment centers regarding adherence to these new verification guidelines. This move aims to enhance the security and accuracy of Aadhaar issuance, reducing the chances of fraudulent enrollments.
