Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this is a historic day for both Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. This project is taking shape after 20 long years due to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi. Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi, CM Dr. Yadav said that like a modern-day Bhagiratha, he has given the gift of water flow to Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh through this project. This is a unique project for the Chambal and Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while thanking Prime Minister Modi on the occasion of the MoA (Memorandum of Agreement) of the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal River Linking Project in Jaipur on Tuesday, said that on completion of one year of the present government of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, the Prime Minister himself has come to give gifts to the public of both the states.
90 percent of funds from the Center
CM Dr. Yadav said in this scheme of the Centre, 90 percent of the total cost will be the central share and the state’s share will be 10 percent. The total water storage capacity of the project will be 1908.83 cubic meters.
Also, 172 million cubic meters of water will be reserved for drinking water and industries. 21 dams/barrages will be constructed under the project. Due to the project, there will be adequate water supply for drinking as well as irrigation purposes in the entire Western Madhya Pradesh including Sheopur, Bhind, Morena, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Agar, Indore, Dhar, Ujjain, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Sehore etc. 3217 villages of the state will benefit from the project. In Malwa and Chambal region, 6 lakh 13 thousand 520 hectares will be irrigated and drinking water will be available to a population of 40 lakh.
