Major drug haul seized in MP, 3 under arrest

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police has intensified its crackdown on illegal narcotics, seizing over 13 quintals of contraband and assets worth approximately Rs 1.72 crore in coordinated operations across Agar Malwa and Mandsaur districts. Three accused have been arrested.

In Agar Malwa, police intercepted a container truck at Ganesh Ghati on the Agar–Sarangpur route. A search revealed 613.6 kg of illegal poppy husk concealed in 31 sacks. One accuse was arrested, and property including the vehicle, mobile phones, cash and documents worth over Rs 1.53 crore was seized.

In Mandsaur’s Sitamau area, police recovered 7.22 quintals of contraband from a Bolero pick-up vehicle during a search near Manpura village. Two accused were arrested, and assets worth around Rs 19 lakh, including vehicles and mobile phones, were confiscated.

Cases have been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, with further investigation underway to trace the supply network.
