New Delhi, March 19 (UNI) Delhi and its surrounding regions witnessed cloudy skies on Thursday, as temperatures stayed around 19°C, following a day of dust storms, thunder, lightning, and rainfall that provided relief.
An orange alert was issued by the India Meteorological Department, with rain and gusty winds disrupting daily life and impacting electricity networks across Delhi-NCR.
Similar weather conditions are expected to persist through Friday.
On Wednesday evening, at least 16 flights were rerouted to other cities from Indira Gandhi International Airport due to unfavourable weather conditions.
Residents were advised to remain indoors and avoid standing near windows, electric poles, and power lines, while the India Meteorological Department also warned against leaving loose objects unsecured.
