Jio Payments Bank launches UPI-based cardless cash withdrawal service

Kochi, March 18 (UNI) Jio Payments Bank has introduced a UPI-based cash withdrawal facility through its Business Correspondent (BC) touchpoints, marking a significant step towards expanding digital payments and financial inclusion in India.

The newly launched feature enables customers to withdraw cash by scanning a UPI QR code at BC outlets and authorising the transaction through their UPI applications, removing the need for debit cards or access to ATMs.

The initiative is particularly aimed at improving banking access in rural and semi-urban regions, where traditional banking infrastructure is often limited.

By facilitating cardless cash withdrawals, the service seeks to bridge the gap between digital payments and physical cash needs, especially among segments that continue to rely heavily on cash transactions. It also offers first-time users an assisted and secure way to experience UPI-based services through the bank’s last-mile BC network, a release said.

With this rollout, Jio Payments Bank Limited aims to strengthen the reach of UPI across underserved areas while enhancing accessibility to essential banking services.
