Bhopal: A three-day ‘Civil Defence Conclave–2026’ commenced on Monday at the Home Guard Line on Jail Road in Bhopal under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Defence training programme. The event, being held from 16 to 18 March, was inaugurated by Director General of Home Guards, Civil Defence and Disaster Management Pragya Richa Srivastava.
Volunteers from across the State are participating in disaster management training sessions, rescue demonstrations, competitions and sports activities organised during the conclave.
Addressing the gathering, Srivastava said Civil Defence volunteers are vital partners of the administration in disaster management and internal security. Their readiness and spirit of service act as a protective shield for society during times of crisis. She noted that such training initiatives would strengthen the State’s disaster preparedness and contribute to the goal of a self-reliant Madhya Pradesh.
Live demonstrations of rescue operations and displays of modern rescue equipment were also organised.
About 500 Civil Defence volunteers, divisional wardens and post wardens attended the programme along with senior officials, including Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Singh and Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar.
