Bhopal to Host 1.25 Crore Parthiv Shivlinga Ritual

  • Grand religious event of Srimad Bhagavata Katha to be held

Bhopal: The capital city is set to transform into a hub of devotion as the Vitthal Market Dussehra Ground prepares for a massive seven-day religious congregation. Starting March 12, the “Dadda Ji Shishya Parivar” will organize the construction of 12.5 million (1.25 crore) earthen Shivlingas, marking the 137th such grand event dedicated to world peace and public welfare.

Divine guidance and rituals

The event will be held under the spiritual patronage of householder saint Dr. Anil Prabhakar Shastri (Bade Bhaiya Sarkar), son of the revered Pandit Dev Prabhakar Shastri “Dadda Ji.”

Beyond the monumental task of crafting the Parthiv Shivlingas, the program features a daily Maharudrabhishek, a sacred Havan, and the recitation of the Srimad Bhagwat Katha. Attendees will be treated to the wisdom of the eighteen Puranas, with Bade Bhaiya Sarkar narrating the divine pastimes of Lord Krishna and the core tenets of Sanatan Dharma.

A community of faith

To ensure maximum participation, the organizing committee is providing all ritual materials—including clay for the Shivlingas and ingredients for the Rudrabhishek—free of charge. The atmosphere will be further sanctified by continuous Bhajan-Kirtan performances and a daily Bhandara (community feast) starting at 2:30 PM.
