Reliance Retail acquires ‘Pahadi Local’ beauty and wellness brand

Hyderabad/Mumbai, Mar 9 (UNI) Reliance Retail Limited on Monday announced the acquisition of the ‘Pahadi Local’ brand along with its business from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited, strengthening its presence in India’s beauty and wellness segment.

‘Pahadi Local’ is a fast-growing Indian beauty and wellness brand known for its nature-led formulations inspired by Himalayan ingredients and traditional wellness practices, the company said in a release.

The acquisition is part of Reliance Retail’s strategy to build and scale purpose-driven Indian brands by leveraging its omni-channel retail ecosystem, digital commerce capabilities and supply chain network.

Commenting on the development, Isha Ambani, Executive Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, said the brand’s roots in Himalayan wellness traditions and responsible sourcing make it a strong addition to the company’s beauty portfolio.

She said Reliance Retail plans to expand the brand through its omni-channel retail network while preserving the brand’s identity and focus on authentic formulations.

The ‘Pahadi Local’ product portfolio is based on traditional Himalayan wellness knowledge combined with modern formulation science.

The brand works closely with women-led self-help groups in Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh, supporting local livelihoods along with initiatives in healthcare, education and environmental conservation.

As part of the acquisition, the founding team of ‘Pahadi Local’ will continue to play a role in guiding the brand’s creative direction, product development and philosophy.

The acquisition underscores the retailer’s strategy of investing in high-potential Indian brands across beauty, wellness, fashion and lifestyle segments.
